Support the troops at Ft. Lewis

For those of us that Live, Work, and Play in the Fort Lewis, WA and McChord AFB area, this is good to know. It may be a good area to avoid during the Anti-War protests. I do know there will be a lot of us there for the Support Our Troops Rally.

The Olympia Movement for Peace and Justice (anti-war) will march on Friday, September 23rd, from Olympia, WA, to the gates of Fort Lewis.

Fort Lewis is the home of some Strykers you know courtesy of Michael Yon. The 1/24th (Deuce Four) and 1/25th Infantry Regiments are coming home after spending over a year in Mosul.

Friday’s meeting (September 23rd) will be at the Overpass by Madigan Hospital and Camp Murray (Ft. Lewis) at 5pm. Take exit 122 off of I-5.

Saturday’s rally (September 24th) will be at the same place at 10am.

A DEMONSTRATION IS PLANNED BY ANTI WAR GROUPS FOR FRIDAY 23 SEP 05. Their stated intent is for a peaceful and non confrontational demonstration that will begin in Olympia… involve vigils at…overpasses and a rally… . They intend to arrive in…the afternoon and be at the Overpasses from 1500-1800 and again from 1845-until dark… . Pro military organizations are planning a pro military rally at the…overpass beginning at 1700 on 23 SEP 05. We recommend that people avoid the stated demonstration areas…if at all possible.
