Fired! For Serving his Country

This one really bothers me. A two-time OEF Veteran has been fired (”Let Go” according to the school board) after his second tour in Afghanistan.
I often wonder about those in leadership/managerial/positions of authority that act like this. In this day of poor role models from teachers, to priests/clergy, to youth group leaders, to sports figures, we have a so-called leader that FIRES a teacher for serving his country.
