Actor and Singer Robert Goulet Dies at age 73
Do you remember Robert Goulet? I do. He was a wonderful baritone. His songs were romantic. His songs tugged at your heart and often brought you to quiet thought. He was Lancelot in the Broadway play, Camelot.
Robert Goulet was waiting for a lung transplant for a rare type of lung disease. He died yesterday at the age of 73.
He spent much of the last 50 years in front of concert and theater audiences as well as television. His defining moment was when, as Lancelot, he sang the song that would become his trademark, “If Ever I Would Leave You.”
Another great song that I remember him singing was “The Impossible Dream.”
Thank you Robert. Your songs will be remembered in recordings for years to come. Your performances will be remembered in film. You will be remembered in the hearts of those that grew up listening to you sing. Rest in Peace. Heaven should be blessed to have you singing among the angels.
